Knowledge about how a product works is fundamental to being able to diagnose potential issues. Technicians don’t need to have all of that knowledge memorized, they just need to know where to find the information when they need it. That is the premise of our Service Certification. The open book test forces technicians to read the instructions and diagnostic documents and become familiar with their content so they know where to look for help when they need it.

As an added benefit, service facilities that have at least one certified technician for the product they are working on will be paid for applicable labor at a higher rate.
